A month ago JPC and I had the pleasure of flying up to Minneapolis for a weekend wedding for one of my cousins who was living there at the time.
It may be horrible of me to admit, but while I was THRILLED to be heading to the wedding, I wasn’t all that excited to spend a few days in Minneapolis.
I should know better than to judge at first glance, because I have to say I absolutely loved the beautiful city that was so clean, fashionable and health focused. Worth any weekend trip in my book!
Of course, we shopped. We spent time Downtown and at The Mall of America (which I would pass on if I did it again).
While downtown I came across an icon – Marty Tyler Moore!
Our first meal in the city was at the fantastic Cafe Lurcat, a beautiful location for the rehearsal dinner or any romantic night out.
We spent the day before the wedding biking around the city thanks to their amazing bike share program.
We zipped over to the might Mississippi River to take in the view.
Then headed over to the unreal art museum. I thought living in Cleveland with such an esteemed museum it would be hard to impress me in other small cities, but their collection is fantastic.
The building itself is gorgeous and is located in a super hipster neighborhood – so be sure to explore.
Public art is everywhere and the landscaping around the city is perfect. We also saw so many public parks with free WiFi!
Last but not least, they had a great farmer’s market that also had live music. The collection of fresh foods for sale was unbelievable.
Have you been to Minneapolis? If so, I’d love to know what you think!
