Now that my half marathon is completed, I’m thrilled to share that my Saturdays feel like my own again! Not that having a long run scheduled ruined any big plans, but it’s hard to accommodate any all day activities when you need to fit in a long run and some recovery.
While Columbus is just a short 2-hour drive from Cleveland, it’s a city I haven’t explored much since returning to Ohio. I’m looking forward to a day of shopping, eating and cocktailing around town!
A few stops on the agenda: Since we’re in the process of redoing our home, a visit to Objects and West Elm are top of the list. I’ve had my eye on a sectional from West Elm for some time and have never seen it in person!
To me (and most people across the country, at this point) Columbus is the MECCA of ice cream thanks to Jeni and her splendid ice creams. Grabbing a sundae at the flagship store, Jeni’s North Market, will be a crucial stop.
As a huge fan of the OYO vodkas and whiskey, JPC and I will definitely popping into Middle West Spirits. This craft distillery sources many of their ingredients locally has a great variety of vodkas, and offers a ton of knowledge on great recipes and pairings.
Last but not least – I’m expecting to have quite the haul for my closet. After NYC and LA, Columbus has the highest number of fashion designers per capita. With headquarters for The Limited, Victoria’s Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch, there are plenty of talented designers who’ve cut their teeth at one of these enormous fashion merchants. A few local stops that are already on my radar are Milk Bar, Rowe, and Jinny. So, hello!! Good thing I’m bringing my AMEX 😉
Have you spent time in Columbus? If so, hit me with your favorite shopping and dining destinations, I’d love to check out your recommendations while I’m there!
