I couldn’t believe the outpouring of suggestions from my blog post sharing that JPC and I would be taking a mini-road trip and visiting our sister city, Columbus. While I wasn’t able to visit all the recommended locales, I did hit quite a few and you did not disappoint with the suggestions! I figured it’s only fitting to pass these gems along to ensure a perfect trip of fashion, fab eats, and fun galleries.
High Street is full of the most perfect little boutiques – stumbling up and down the street you are more than guaranteed to find something that will fit perfectly in your closet. Further, so many of these boutiques have great brands that I typically wait to shop for when I’m in NYC – it’s great to see IRO and Schutz here in Ohio! If you’re looking for some of these high end goodies, check out Ladybird and Rowe.
Being on a home goods mission, I was so glad I wandered into Aesthetics. The store is curated BEAUTIFULLY and has the most interesting set of housewares. Please pop in and say ‘Hi there’ if you happen to visit!
Since I don’t ever not have pizza on the brain, I knew I had to visit Harvest Pizzeria in German Village. This spot was recommended by several of you and more than hit the spot. The patio is fabulous, they offer a rose of the day (my kind of joint) and the pizzas are thin and just perfect. The lunch special comes with glorious salads for a $2 add on and should not be missed.
Back to the clothes – HOMAGE, which has two locations in Columbus boasts amazing sweats and sporty throwback favorites. It’s where I picked up my NBA Jam tank top. They even hit you with a vintage glass bottle Coca-Cola for the road after you check out.
We caught the end of an amazing gallery show at Sherrie Gallerie, also on High Street. Artist Elizabeth Fergus-Jean’s show, Anameses was just winding down and the canoes were so beautiful and intricate. I’m sure there will be something just as interesting and beautiful whenever you pop in.
Last but not least – if you’re looking to follow some of the street fashion trends around Columbus, check out the hashtag #ShortNorthGirls on Instagram for some amazing snaps from Larry Robertson of Brigade – he captures the essence of the city gals to a tee! I couldn’t resist posing and tagging one of my own photos in front of an adorable Tiffany blue building.
