Beauty Haul: My Spring Recap

A new season means new beauty products. Spring means skin (thank god) so it’s time freshen up and get ready for shorts and sleeveless shirts. Also, makeup and face care.

Here’s a breakdown of what I’m loving, tossing and getting ready to hit ‘purchase’ on:

NARS (always, always always) I love it. Sephora sent me the little baby lipsticks pictured as a birthday present. I was excited sure, but these things, these colors are the bomb dot com. Get both, stat. The matte red in Cruella and the satin pencil in Rikugien.

TaUT Skin Care’s Perfect Brows – this came directly from TaUT. You know I am pretty religious about my eyebrows and love the Urban Decay Brow Box, but the wax runs out way earlier than the powder, if you’re a hairy Italian with unruly brows like me anyway… so I supplement with this and LOVE IT. It keeps those bad boys locked in place.

Bobbi Brown’s Hydrating Intense Night Cream – this was a bad move. A bad $62 move. I’m still using it, because the only thing I hate more than wasting money is being WRONG. But it just isn’t as intense as I need it to be. I’m zero to 100 and this is zero. My skin is a little dry and flaky. I am probably getting wrinkles as I type this. The gal who I talked to at Saks about it knew nothing at all, but I was on a mission. The mission was wrong. I should have aborted the mission. SOMEONE HELP ME GET A NEW NIGHT CREAM THAT ISN’T LA MER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Maybelline Real Impact Mascara – Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s Maybelline. There is nothing else to say – kidding…of course there is. Tell high end mascara to eff off. $30 mascara will never be worth it. Take me down the drugstore isle every damn day for this stuff. I’ve been using the pink + green tube since puberty… I occasionally stray, but I always go back.

So, not pictured, but something I’ve been thinking a lot about. Dr. Dennis Gross’ Alpha/Beta Peel Pads are EVERYTHING. They are literally responsible for making me beautiful. BUT at nearly $2.50 a treatment…that I do every other day? That’s pricey folks. So – I keep hearing about The First Aid Facial Radiance Pads… everyone is raving about them. Cost per use? $.50. Now, I don’t know what to think… I’m a big believer in the most it costs, the better it is… this is for everything – not just beauty products (it’s why I don’t have my student loans paid off but have EVERYTHING ELSE). sshhhh.. so, have you used them? Love them? Hate them? I’m going to try it out. I’ll report back.
